  7.    Welcome to Galaxy 5! This file is here to help you get started with the
  8.  game. It will give you the basics of how to play, what to do, what you can
  9.  and can't do, etc. etc., and give ya a few tips. If you wish (and if your
  10.  SysOp allows it), you may download this file (option #2) for future
  11.  reference while not online.

  15.   FROM SMALL BEGINNINGS
  16.  -----------------------
  17.     When you first start the game, you are given a certain amount of "stuff."
  18.  What you get will depend on what type of character you choose to play. There
  19.  are 3 types of characters that you can choose, Assassin, Star Pilot, or a
  20.  Con Artist.
  21.  
  22.  ASSASIN - If you choose to be an assasin, you will be given the first
  23.            weapon available, the first armour available, one power move
  24.            (which can be used against enemies on the planets), and a little
  25.            more strength and defensive strength than the others.

  27.  STAR PILOT - If you choose star pilot, you will be given the first space
  28.               craft available, enough fuel to make it to one planet, and
  29.               pilot skills of 5 (pilot skills are needed for piloting a
  30.               craft).

  32.  CON ARTIST - Con Artists are kind of like thieves. But they are also
  33.               attractive people, which means you start out with looks of
  34.               10 points, and a little more skill than the others.

  38.   MOVING RIGHT ALONG
  39.  --------------------
  40.     The first thing you will probably want to do, is "(F)ind Something To
  41.  Kill." Upon killing an enemy in the warfields, you gain skill, any money
  42.  the enemies you kill were carrying, strength, and defensive strength. This
  43.  is one of the best ways to gain these things, but it can also get you
  44.  killed if your not careful! :)
  45.  
  46.     After you use up your fights for the day (if you're still alive), then
  47.  you'll probably want to deposit all of your money in the bank (its also not
  48.  such a bad idea to deposit your money in the bank every now and again, since
  49.  if you get killed, all the money you are carrying will be stolen!). At the
  50.  bank you can deposit and withdraw your money as you need it, and even give
  51.  some to a friend!

  53.     As you gain skill, when you reach certain amounts, you will be
  54.  confronted by a "Warrior Droid." You must battle this Warrior Droid in
  55.  order to move up one rank. If you lose the battle against this Warrior
  56.  Droid, you will not die. It is just a battle to test your abilities.

  58.     The inns on each planet are a fun place to hang out. If you are more than
  59.  a level 1 player, then the bartender will even talk to you about a few
  60.  things. You can also flirt with an employee at the inns!

  64.   XPORTING
  65.  ----------
  66.     If the SysOp running Galaxy 5 has any Xports installed, then you can
  67.  "Xport" to another place by choosing "X" from the main menu. Xports are
  68.  places created by other door programmers as add ons for Galaxy 5. These
  69.  Xports will allow you to do all sorts of different things!

  73.   KILLING OTHERS
  74.  ----------------
  75.     Here is a fun part! Killing other players is one of the nicest features
  76.  of the game. If you are successful in killing another player (or players),
  77.  then you will end up stealing all the money the player had in his/her
  78.  pocket, and you will gain skill points. But if you get killed, then the
  79.  player that killed you will steal all the money you may have had in your
  80.  pocket, and gain a little skill of his/her own! After making a kill, on
  81.  the same day you will be allowed to post a thought on the Black Wall. The
  82.  Black Wall is restricted to only those who have killed another player in
  83.  the day. But anyone can observe the black wall, and read other players
  84.  thoughts that they have posted.

  86.     If you choose to kill a player that is playing the game at the same
  87.  time you are, then you will indulge in an online real time battle! You will
  88.  send your command to either attack or run. If you attack, then the results
  89.  of your hit will be carried out, then the other player will be given the
  90.  chance to attack or run. While battling in online battles, you also have
  91.  the option to send a message to your opponent so you can tell him/her off,
  92.  or whatever! :)

  96.   MAIL

  98.     Sending mail to other players is a good way to make friends or find
  99.  enemies, and even get together with a player of the opposite sex! :) If you
  100.  send mail to someone who is playing the game at the same time you are, then
  101.  that player will receive your message as soon as you are done writing it,
  102.  and he/she can reply to your message, and send it right back to you in real
  103.  time! You can also quote the messages that you receive, so that when you
  104.  reply to them, the other person will remember what it is you're replying to.

  108.   SECRETS

  110.     Well, all I can tell you here, is that there are some secrets in the
  111.  galaxy that you can discover, but telling you wouldn't be any fun now
  112.  would it? :)
